Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea at the Hillthwaite Hotel
No longer a tradition reserved for the ladies; afternoon tea at the charming Hillthwaite Hotel has undergone a manly makeover. Dainty sandwiches and sweet delicacies have been replaced by hearty treats like Cumberland sausage butty and malt chocolate mousse, but the most controversial twist of all has to be that tea – the very centrepiece of this great British ritual – can be swapped a cold pint of local ale. On a warmer day, you can enjoy your tea on the sunny terrace, which boasts stunning views over Lake Windermere and the Lake District Fells. You can even add some relaxation to your day, with full use of the hotel’s leisure facilities, including a pool and sauna!
